This historic tourist train runs adjacent to my property and frequently stops outside my house. People are always taking vids and such as they pass by... on these occasions, it was my turn. :) One of these days, I'll fly over the train with my paramotor for some air-to-train footage. SFS still runs freight between Lamy and Santa Fe. It is a fun and beautiful ride throughout. The views are breathtaking, especially the sunsets... which is why it stops in my area! :) There is also a walking/biking trail next to the tracks... very interesting to see it pass so close. It runs pretty much daily with two runs per day on weekends depending on the season.

Perhaps the oldest town in America, Santa Fe is a cultural center featuring numerous art galleries, museums, great shopping and a thriving native population. You will see why visitors flock to this entertaining place in this 3-part video tour. We stayed at the Inn of the Anasazi during the Christmas season when the town is brilliantly lit up by luminaria, romantic lights in paper sacks you find everywhere. Palace of the Governors is Americas oldest civic building, open now as a museum and featuring a Native craft and jewelry market in front. Ice sculptures in the town plaza and dinner at the Coyote Café complete part 1.

https://www.expedia.com/Mexico-City.d178285.Destination-Travel-Guides Mexico City is one of the financial powerhouses and cultural capitals of Latin America; it’s also a city of color. Mexico City’s colors run deepest in the main square, the Zócalo, once the epicenter of the Mexican Civilization. Today, this area is presided over by a temple of a different kind, The Metropolitan Cathedral. Throughout the Centro Histórico district, over 1500 heritage buildings vie for your attention. The streets of this district overflow with museums and galleries. For a window into the life and color of yesteryear, visit the fabulous Museo Franz Mayer. For a change of color, head to Chapultepec Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world. The park is home to cultural institutions such as the Auditorio Nacional and the Museum of Anthropology, as well as the popular Chapultepec Zoo. Pay your respects to the Niños Heroes, a monument which honors the six boy soldiers who gave their lives defending Castillo de Chapultepec. Today, the castle serves as the National Museum of History. Just to the north is Nuevo Polanco, a former warehouse area rapidly being transformed by new architectural visions, such as the Museo Soumaya and Museo Jumex. To the south of the city is Coyoacán. In the early 20th century the district’s artists, writers and intellectuals inspired not only Mexico, but the entire world. Visit The Blue House, the birthplace of Frieda Kahlo, and the Museo Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo, where these two giants of Mexican art worked, lived and loved. Just to the south are the incredible murals and buildings of Ciudad Universitaria, which, when constructed in the 1950s, was the city’s largest single building project since the time of the Aztecs. The spirit of bohemia continues amid the sophisticated hues and beauty of districts such as Roma and Condesa. At Xochimilco, simply float away on a riot of color on the last of the city’s Aztec canals. In Mexico City there is color everywhere, and once you experience it, your memories will never fade.

American western movie directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, Raymond Massey, and Ronald Reagan. Written by Robert Buckner, the film is about J.E.B. Stuart and his romance with Kit Carson Holliday, his friendship with George Armstrong Custer, and his battles against John Brown in the days leading up to the outbreak of the American Civil War. It was one of the top-grossing films of the year, being the seventh Flynn--de Havilland collaboration. The outdoor scenes were filmed at the Lasky Movie Ranch in the Lasky Mesa area of the Simi Hills in the western San Fernando Valley. One can visit the film location site, now in the very large Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve (a.k.a. Ahmanson Ranch), with various trails to the Lasky Mesa locale. The film is frequently confused with the Raoul Walsh movie They Died with Their Boots On, released the following year, in which Flynn replaces Reagan in the role of Custer and also features de Havilland as Flynn's leading lady. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0033021 CHANGE BEFORE GOING PRODUCTIONS: http://www.cbgp.com http://www.facebook.com/changebeforegoingproductions http://www.twitter.com/cbgproductions http://www.gplus.to/changebeforegoing http://www.pinterest.com/cbgproductions Feature films added regularly to the channel. This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Dr. Andrew Lovato explores Hispanic and New Mexican cultures of yesterday and today through his research and writings. In his home town of Santa Fe, the interplay of local culture and commercially-driven influences has created the adobe Disneyland that many tourists have come to love. But where does authentic culture stop and the myth of commercial culture begin? Andrew Lovato is an Associate Professor of Speech Communication at Santa Fe Community College. He received his Ph.D. in Communication with an emphasis in Intercultural Communication from the University of New Mexico in 2000. Lovato was selected as a Fulbright Scholar in 2008. Lovato is the author of "Santa Fe Hispanic Culture: Preserving Identity in a Tourist Town" and “The Year Zozobra Escaped: Featuring Zozobra’s Great Escape". His latest project is a serialized version and podcast of his latest book, "Elvis Romero and the Cosmic White Corvette". Lovato is a contributing author for four other books related to New Mexico history and culture. He has also written numerous articles and given lectures related to New Mexico history and culture for various groups and organizations. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
